About SolarROI
Simplifying Rooftop Solar Decisions for Indian Homeowners
Welcome to SolarROI.in, an independent clean energy calculator directory. Our platform is designed to help Indian homeowners cut through the technical jargon, estimate installation costs, calculate financial payback speeds, and maximize subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
Our Mission
To accelerate residential solar adoption in India by providing objective, data-driven financial modeling. We believe switching to clean solar energy should be transparent, straightforward, and highly rewarding.
Independent Neutrality
SolarROI is not a solar panel manufacturer or an installation contractor. We act as an independent advisor, showing you unbiased numbers based on official utility tariffs and local solar insulation averages.
What We Offer
- Localized State & City Directories: Programmatic calculations spanning 32 states/UTs and 101 major Indian cities factoring in specific solar irradiance and local power company (DISCOM) rates.
- Accurate Subsidy Modeling: Direct mathematical calculation of Central government subsidies (up to ₹78,000 for residential connections) to display true upfront investment figures.
- Equipment Comparison: Realistic simulations analyzing efficiency degradation curves over 30 years across standard N-Type TOPCon and PERC panels.
- Vetted Vendor Catalogs: Curated list of verified local installers to facilitate free structural roof surveys and direct quote connections.
How We Calculate Your Solar ROI
Every estimate on SolarROI.in is built from four inputs: your average monthly electricity bill, your state's per-unit DISCOM tariff, your city's average daily peak sun hours, and the applicable PM Surya Ghar Yojana subsidy tier. From these, we size a system in kW, estimate gross and net installation cost, and project annual electricity generation adjusted for a standard 78% inverter and system-loss factor.
We then model 25 years of cash flow, applying a 3.5% annual utility rate escalation to reflect historical DISCOM tariff inflation and a gradual panel efficiency degradation curve, to arrive at your break-even payback period and lifetime net savings. Net metering grades (A+ through D) are assigned per state based on published DISCOM policies governing how exported solar credits are banked and settled.
All estimations generated on this platform are intended for educational and sizing assistance. System generation outputs are subject to factors such as roof pitch, shadowing, local weather, and final contractor warranties. Always verify details with professional site inspectors prior to purchasing.
